Today we’re talking about ALL things money! Let’s be real, this is a taboo topic, especially as young women in the entrepreneurship space, but at Equipped we are all about sharing the raw & the real so today we’re sitting down to talk about this subject. We are sharing some of the things we wish we knew in the beginning of our careers, how we grew, how to raise your prices, how to create freedom through your finances & SOO much more. While we certainly don’t have it all figured out, we have learned some helpful information along the way and can’t wait to share!

When we first started photography, it was just a passion for us both. We didn’t know how to turn our hobby into full time jobs that we could make livings off of. We both tried working other jobs while doing photography on the side. Eventually, we were able to take it full time.

When we thought of doing photography full time, we heard that there wasn’t enough money to make a comfortable living off of it as a career. There was a stigma around photography that you don’t make a lot of money as a photographer. We’ve learned since going full time, you become a business and an entrepreneur and you are forced to learn how to be a good steward of your money. They don’t teach you about how to take care of your finances in school, so you are thrown into it when you start a business.

We both aren’t huge into budgeting — if you are that is TOTALLY okay — but what we’ve found is if it works for you, then amazing! But if not, there are other ways to be a good steward of your money.

Overall, we want to empower you and let you know that it IS possible to make money as a photographer and to go full time. We hope this episode was an encouragement to you!
