Today we have a very special guest, Rachel Traxler, a photography business coach that helps photographers connect with their aligned clients so photographers can work less and serve more. In this episode with Rachel we dive into some really interesting topics like how to make more while working less, how to book more premium clients, why it's important to think about having multiple revenue streams, finding balance in your business and so much more!

EC: How can someone make the shift into booking more premium clients?

Rachel: I think of it like a pyramid— I start with social media at the bottom because I think that is where a lot of photographers get stuck. A lot of photographers think that is where their ideal client is. I think people are leaving other strategies off the table. The next one on the pyramid is branding/copy. This is how you are actually portraying your brand, and how your copy is compelling. We tend to see the same verbiage over and.over again, and you may not be communicating a premium brand. Next is website and portfolio which has to match your branding, copy, and social media. The second that any of these things do not make sense, it immediately breaks trust between your clients because everything does not align.

EC: What are ways you can save time while still making an impact and income in your business?

Rachel: I think this is an interesting topic in regards to AI and how it is transforming and growing. I like to think: what are tasks you are doing over and over that are redundant? Even if you are getting asked the same questions, how can you break your workflow up to make things easy? I like to break things up into different workflow phases for myself: the first one being “nurture”. There are so many points of communication with clients that can be automated to save time. With this, I can focus on lead generation and being the face of my brand.

EC: We talked about how to book more premium clients, but how could someone like a photographer make more income in other ways then raising prices?

Rachel: I’m a firm believer that your premium and ideal client CAN be your current clients. You can craft those clients into ideal clients. You can expand their minds on other services you offer, or adding on other tangible goods. Albums, prints, film… those are all things you can add on with current clients! Those are great ways to create income.
